The second short film by French photographer Valérie Jouve is about the diverse times, rhythms and speeds of daily life in urban space. The film is a visual rail-movie in which the camera brings the viewer along to Rotterdam. The film is a choreography and rhythmic visual composition. The complexity of the various speeds and rhythms with wich Rotterdammers move about, and the relation of the anonymous people and vehicles provides Jouve’s scenario.
Valérie Jouve, born in 1964 in Saint-Etienne, lives and works in Paris. She studied photographs at the Ecole Nationale de la Photographie in Paris. With her photographic and cinematographic works she questions the phenomenon of urban passages and the relationship between body and the architecture of the city.
