“Verbena” (open
air dance band) is tradition in Spain, a country used to looking
at other people´s celebrations. I was interested in working with
the idea of the end of the party: change, crisis, following the
leftovers produced by disintegration.
Music, summer, work, money, all disappears when winter arrives for
musicians belonging to a time that is slowly fading away. With
that premise as the basis, I play with silence and noise. I create
a sonorous body as resonance of the most private feelings of
characters from a different time. That is why I shut my ears and I
look at the “verbena” and I listen to how the party ends.
